A lurker pass for the Fall cohort

I’m getting the page together for the Fall Cohort (which starts tomorrow, October 27) which is going to track our goals, progress, dreams, and more and I’m wishing I had more room for people because I think this is going to be good fun.

Yes, we’re going to tackle the AI tools and process of the day and we’re also going to build incredible things - but we’re going to go beyond the technical here, and get into some fun psychology. Who are we as programmers, anyway?

It’s a new day, and we’re new people

We’re living through an incredible time and, as I keep saying, you can frame it in the negative (holy crap software engineering is done and the world is littered with vibe coded crap) or in the positive: wow I can finally build my dream project just the way I want.

Understanding that this framing exists is one thing, being able to actively switch off your inner Debbie Downer is another. It takes effort, support, and motivation, and there’s no better setting for that than a group of peers all going through the same transformation!

Keeping it real, however, I also know that groups might not be your thing. Or time zones - there are plenty of folks whose time zones don’t align.
